Greek Raw Large Sprouted Almonds (approx. 3cm) - 454g

FoodCraft

Our almonds come from small producers in Thessaly, a region in Central Greece and they are grown organically in a traditional way without any use of chemicals.

They are about 1.5 times larger than the normal almond size and have a wild flavor. We have enhanced these almonds by sprouting them. Now made easy for digestion.

Nuts are a fantastic reservoir of proteins, healthy fats, fiber, and important minerals such as zinc and magnesium. Yet, they also have a naturally occurring chemical known as phytic acid and some enzyme inhibitors which can interfere with the body's absorption of certain nutrients. These enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid are absent in our activated almonds since they were removed through our soaking process. After the sprouting, we dehydrate the nuts for another 24 hours on low temperature. This makes them easier to digest and assimilate and brings out the full flavor of the nuts at the same time.

Suggested Uses:

- Consume in a raw state as a healthy snack
- Chop them up and sprinkle on vegetables or serve with cooked foods
- Finely grind them in a food processor and use it as a gluten-free crust for fried chicken
- Or further grind them to make almond butter

They work as an amazing crust for raw snacks and you can throw a few pieces into your smoothie blend to add creaminess (dairy replacement!). Sprouted almonds have a mild yet pleasant flavor that comes with a wonderful crunch.

Almonds contain nutrients such as protein, magnesium and vitamin E. Also a great source of antioxidants.

Ingredients: Raw Sprouted Almonds from Greece (Large) *not certified organic

Fodmap Information:

Almonds have a red light in the Monash app, but if we click on it we can learn more. Monash notes that 20 almonds (24 grams) contain high amounts of GOS, but a smaller serving of 10 almonds (12 grams) is low FODMAP. Therefore almonds can be included in the elimination phase of the low FODMAP diet, but it is important to limit almonds to maximum 10 per meal or snack.
