It's soft, chewy and when toasted it has the crunch - just like the bagels you know. 

What is Sourdough?

Our sourdough bread is made from the fermentation of gluten-free flour and filtered water, resulting in naturally occurring lactobacilli and yeast. No commercial yeast is used. We ferment our dough for 8-12 hours depending on the weather, creating a special bread that is kinder to the human digestive system. There is a natural sour flavor not typically found in bread made with commercial yeast brought by the lactic acid: a healthy byproduct of the natural fermentation of the lactobacilli. 

Why is FoodCraft Sourdough Bagel Special? 

- Sourdough traditionally has low levels of gluten but this one is 100% Gluten-Free 
- It's extremely soft and fluffy - the texture is simply unbelievable and incomparable!
- The flavour and texture are more enjoyable than those of a commercially-baked Sourdough 
- The slightly spongy texture makes it perfect for spreads but it's already delicious on its own 
- Macro-nutrients in the bread (carbohydrates and protein) are broken down into smaller particles the long fermentation hours, aids nutrient intake 

How to Enjoy?

If freshly baked, enjoy as it is. Sourdough breads can last a long time without any preservatives due to the natural occurring acids in the bread. To enjoy its best texture at all times, we recommend to slice and freeze if you are not going to consume it within 2 days from production. By toasting the frozen slice, you can enjoy it as if it was (almost) straight out of the oven! 

To Reheat

Option1: Preheat your oven to 180°C and reheat for 5 minutes. *We recommend this!
Option2: Microwave a frozen bagel for 2:30min 
Option3: Microwave a defrost bagel for 1:30min
Option4: Steam a defrost bagel till hot (about 5 minutes) 

Ingredients: Gluten Free Flour Mix (rice, tapioca and potato), thickener (xanthan gum), filtered water, coconut flower sugar*, psyllium husk powder, golden flax seed*,  himalayan crystal salt, naturally occurring lactobacilli/yeast
