We have a ready-to-use, active gluten-free Sourdough 'Mother' Starter. Made from a gluten-free flour blend (rice, tapioca, and potato), this Starter is perfect for those who want to make their own Sourdough bread without typical starters that contain gluten.  

How to feed the sourdough starter
It is important to understand the cycle of the sourdough starter. Please read through the instructions here
How to Preserve your Mother Starter: 
You can keep your Sourdough Starter in the refrigerator for up to 7 days without feeding. Once you are ready to bake again, follow the steps to 'feed' here (in room temperature)!

*If you are going to wait longer than 10 days because of travelling etc., keep the Starter in the freezer. Once you are ready to bake again, defrost the Starter at room temperature and begin the feeding process again. It might take 2 -3 times repeating this process until the starter becomes fully active again.

What is Sourdough? How is it good for you? 

Our Gluten-Free Sourdough Breads are made from fermenting gluten-free flour and filtered water, resulting in naturally occurring lactobacilli and yeast. No commercial yeast is used. We ferment our dough for 8-12 hours depending on the weather, creating a special loaf that is kinder to the human digestive system. There is a natural sourness to it that is not typically found in bread made with commercial yeast, brought upon by the lactic acid. A healthy byproduct of the natural fermentation of the lactobacilli.
