We understand your disappointment with the quality of the apricots. As a 100% organic product, the texture and firmness of our dried apricots can vary depending on the harvest conditions and natural drying process. We do not add any artificial additives or preservatives to our products.
Dried apricots can sometimes become quite hard and tough. This is because as the moisture evaporates during the drying process, the apricots lose their soft, plump texture.
Tip: Soaking the dried apricots in water can help rehydrate them and soften the texture. The water helps to reintroduce moisture back into the dried fruit. After soaking for 30 minutes to an hour, the apricots should become plumper and more tender.
Soaking can also aid digestion. Dried fruits like apricots are high in fiber, which can be harder to digest in their dehydrated state. The water softens the fiber, making it easier for your body to break down and absorb the nutrients.
If the apricots are very hard, we'd recommend soaking the dried apricots in warm water for about an hour before eating them. This should help improve both the texture and digestibility. You can then enjoy the rehydrated apricots as a snack or incorporate them into recipes.
